FUNCTION OF WORK:Provides case support for correctional and/or public safety services by assisting with case supervision, database management, and investigation reports.
LEVEL OF WORK:SUPERVISION RECEIVED:General from Corrections Support Specialist Supervisor. Other reporting relationships may be approved by SCS.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:JOB DISTINCTIONS:Differs from Administrative Assistants and Administrative Coordinators by the presence of corrections-specific duties such as organizing caseload folders, processing offender-related documentation, and providing direct support to offender supervision functions.
Differs from Corrections Support Specialist 2 by the absence of experienced-level responsibilities, focusing on routine duties.

Assists officers by assembling daily caseload folders with compliance checklist and program verification forms.
Enters basic demographic data into the case management system.
Logs receipt of clemency and pardon applications and checks for required attachments.
Prepares initial summaries of applicant demographic and sentencing information for Board staff.
Responds to routine offender and applicant inquiries regarding reproting procedures, documentation requirements and application status.
Issues visitor passes and verifies the identification of offenders reporting to the district office.
Logs and tracks routine correspondence such as program enrollment notices, restitution receipts, or appointment reminders.
Retrieves routine legal documents (sentencing forms, judgments, warrants) for officer use.
Files scanned documents such as release papers, treatment verifications, and status forms.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Three years of experience in administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
