FUNCTION OF WORK:
To perform operational support tasks in a warehouse environment.

LEVEL OF WORK:
Experienced

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
General from a Warehouse Supervisor. Other reporting relationships may be approved by SCS.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
None.

JOB DISTINCTIONS:
Differs from Warehouse Technician 1 by the presence of experienced-level warehouse duties.

Differs from Warehouse Technician 3 by the absence of advanced-level warehouse duties.

At this level, incumbents perform the full range of operational support tasks under general supervision. Duties may include a combination of inventory handling, clerical, custodial, and equipment operation tasks in a warehouse environment.

Keeps a running account of items received, stored, and issued.

Writes routine reports as required by agency policy.

Inspects incoming stock or equipment and compares to specifications on invoice, requisition or purchase order.

Delivers inventory items when needed.

Tags, marks, labels, stores, and issues stock as appropriate.

Verifies shipping and receiving reports to determine accuracy; takes action to resolve discrepancies.

Inventories non-chargeable items at periodic intervals. Maintains database or ledgers to record inventory level, additions, stock usage and dates.

Maintains inventory in orderly and organized manner through use of stock rotation, put-away, and picking plans.

Operates forklifts with lifting capacity up to 10,000 lbs. or lift height up to 12 feet.

Learns to perform basic user maintenance on material handling equipment.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
One years of warehouse experience, or experience in receiving, storing, or distributing supplies or equipment.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience.
