Learns routine inspection tasks such as writing haul tickets, weighing asphaltic materials, assists in asphalt plant inspections.
Learns to collect and total quantities from haul tickets for materials delivered by truck to construction projects.
Becomes familiar with Department procedures, policies, standards, and specifications as they relate to the processing of construction-related documents such as partial and final estimates, test reports, and materials audits.
Observes and assists higher-level inspectors with measurements or field tests such as moisture density.
Trains to measure surface areas of work to be performed by the contractor.
Weighs construction materials such as asphalt.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a high school diploma or GED; OR
Six months of experience in sub-professional engineering, heavy mobile equipment operation, or mobile equipment maintenance.
