FUNCTION OF WORK:
To perform operations support tasks for a state park or state historic site.

LEVEL OF WORK:
Experienced

General from a Park Technician Supervisor or other higher-level personnel.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
None

JOB DISTINCTIONS:
Differs from Park Technician A by the presence of experienced-level park operations support tasks.

Differs from Park Technician C by the absence of advanced-level park operations support tasks.

EXAMPLES OF WORK:

Cleans and disinfects facilities by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, and polishing.

Moves and rearranges furniture.

Changes linens and washes dishes.

Picks up, collects, and disposes of trash and debris.

Mows and trims grass, prunes shrubs, weeds flower beds, rakes leaves, and splits firewood.

Paints buildings, trash barrels, picnic tables, grills, and signs.

Performs manual labor as needed to maintain facilities and grounds.

Greets patrons and provides basic information about the location as assigned.

Processes routine paperwork and/or enters data into a department log or database.

Prepares requisitions for the purchase of supplies.

Receives, stores, and distributes supplies.

Collects fees, issues receipts, and assists visitors as needed.

Answers multi-line telephone, giving routine information and screening calls.

Receives, sorts, and distributes mail.

Performs routine filing of documents.

Performs minor building repairs such as changing lightbulbs and air filters.

Operates rotary mowers, small tractors, pick-up trucks, and vans to accomplish operations support tasks.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of experience in building maintenance, clerical work, custodial work, food service work, or groundskeeping.
