FUNCTION OF WORK:To develop, implement, and monitor destination marketing programs while exploring new and emerging markets to promote tourism in the State of Louisiana.
LEVEL OF WORK:SUPERVISION RECEIVED:General from a Tourism Marketing Manager or Tourism Marketing Director. Alternative reporting relationships may be approved by SCS.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:JOB DISTINCTIONS:Differs from Tourism Marketing Representative 2 by the absence of experienced-level tourism marketing duties.

Attends events to learn how to represent the state at consumer/trade shows and sales missions to promote tourism.
Conducts research and develops sales messages for individual clients.
Assists higher-level staff with organizing and implementing special events to promote Louisiana as a tourist destination.
Assists higher-level staff with Implementing marketing and promotional strategies with tour representatives, convention and visitors bureaus, and other stakeholders.
Collects and maintains data on sales leads to attract tour groups and expand into new markets.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Three years of experience in tourism, marketing, public relations, or administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
