FUNCTION OF WORK:
To assist with ensuring data security and maintaining information security regulatory compliance for statewide information technology functions.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Direct from a higher-level IT Statewide professional with assigned supervisory responsibilities. Other reporting relationships may be approved by SCS.

None.
JOB DISTINCTIONS:
Differs from other IT Statewide jobs by the presence of tasks related to data security for statewide information technology functions.

Differs from IT Statewide InfoSec Associate Analyst 2 by the absence of independence in performing basic information security tasks.

Receives on-the-job training regarding statewide information technology data security. Learns specific system landscapes and the purpose for each system, as it relates to user and system support.

Learns to perform basic information security tasks under close supervision, such as help desk tickets for VPN and multifactor authentication.

Assists in completing compliance and tracking tasks for file transfer requests.

Receives on-the-job training and instruction in regard to OTS information security and/or technical policies, procedures, standards and guidelines as developed per industry standards.

Learns procedures to ensure technical regulatory compliance for information security activities.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of experience in information technology; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR

An associate's degree in information technology; OR

A bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

NOTE:
A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion, provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles.
