FUNCTION OF WORK:
To serve as a technical compliance field agent by certifying, configuring, and testing electronic gaming devices, video draw poker devices, and ancillary gaming hardware/software to ensure they are operating in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Close supervision, typically from a Gaming Technical Compliance Supervisor. May receive guidance from other personnel.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
None.

JOB DISTINCTIONS:
Differs from Gaming Technical Compliance Specialist 2 by the absence of independence in the performance of duties.

Completes certification, configuration and testing of all electronic gaming devices, video draw poker devices, and monitoring system software used in the Louisiana gaming market to validate that they have not been compromised or altered. Verifies that device software is approved and operates in compliance with established payout percentages and accurately reports revenue figures to the required monitoring systems. May generate activity report to document activities performed at properties and provides technical documentation to support findings.

Assists with ensuring compliance of video draw poker device software upgrade activities to ensure integrity and security of the gaming environment.

Assists industry personnel with installations and projects at gaming establishments and properties to ensure the proper monitoring of video draw poker and electronic gaming devices against tampering, device or program altering, and any other means of manipulation that could affect the lawful operation of an electronic gaming device control program. Conducts random compliance inspections of licensed gaming properties and establishments to ensure licensees are operating devices and monitoring systems to security and certification standards as approved by independent testing laboratories May provide technical support and evaluations to troopers, investigators, intelligence analysts, accountants, and audit personnel for gaming device or monitoring system general functions or problems.

Posts monthly statistical accountability for activities performed at licensed properties to include certifications of systems and gaming devices, patron disputes, scheduled/random inspections, and authorizations issued.

Verifies the proper transport of electronic gaming devices by tracking device registration information and updating the shipping database.

Conducts random inspections of facilities storing electronic gaming devices and other gaming equipment including warehouses or other storage areas.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of information technology or electronic technician experience; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any area; OR

An associate's degree.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any area. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any area.
