FUNCTION OF WORK:
To provide supervision, guidance, logistical support, and limited administration to workers engaged in levee maintenance activities.

LEVEL OF WORK:
Supervisor

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
General from a Levee Maintenance Manager. Other reporting relationships may be approved by SCS.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
Direct over Levee Foreman A and/or Levee Foreman B. May also supervise other lower-level personnel engaged in levee maintenance activities.

JOB DISTINCTIONS:
Differs from Levee Foreman B by the presence of supervisory responsibility over other levee foremen.

Differs from Levee Maintenance Manager by the absence of managerial responsibility for levee maintenance field operations.

EXAMPLES OF WORK:

Supervises subordinate foremen and activities in maintaining, repairing, and modifying levees.

Inspects subordinates' work while in progress and upon completion.

Performs limited administrative functions (approves leave, time and attendance, etc.)

Evaluates work performance of subordinates.

Provides daily assignments to subordinate foremen and work crews.

Prepares detailed written work reports on the condition of levees and of maintenance and repair work activities.

Ensures supplies and materials are available for work crews.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Four years of experience as a mechanic, or in the alteration, construction, maintenance or repair of bridges, buildings, drainage facilities, grounds, levees, roads, or wharfs.
