FUNCTION OF WORK:
To provide supervision, guidance, logistical support, and limited administration to workers engaged in levee maintenance activities.

LEVEL OF WORK:
Supervisor

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
General from a Levee Foreman C. Other reporting relationships may be approved by SCS.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
Direct over heavy mobile equipment operators. May also supervise other lower-level personnel engaged in levee maintenance activities.

JOB DISTINCTIONS:
Differs from Levee Foreman A by the presence of supervisory responsibility over heavy mobile equipment operators.

Differs from Levee Foreman C by the absence of supervisory responsibility over other levee foremen.

EXAMPLES OF WORK:

Supervises subordinate personnel and activities requiring the use of heavy mobile equipment in maintaining, repairing, and modifying levees.

Assigns work to subordinate heavy mobile equipment operators and other lower-level personnel.

Inspects subordinates' work while in progress and upon completion.

Performs limited administrative functions (approves leave, time and attendance, etc.)

Evaluates work performance of subordinates.

Provides functional supervision of lower-level levee foremen when necessary to accomplish maintenance tasks.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Three years of experience as a mechanic, or in the alteration, construction, maintenance or repair of bridges, buildings, drainage facilities, grounds, levees, roads, or wharfs.
