FUNCTION OF WORK:
To provide supervision, guidance, logistical support, and limited administration to workers engaged in levee maintenance activities.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
General from a Levee Foreman C. Other reporting relationships may be approved by SCS.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
Direct over lower-level mobile equipment operators and/or levee maintenance personnel. Other reporting relationships may be approved by SCS.

JOB DISTINCTIONS:
Differs from mobile equipment operators by the presence of supervisory responsibility over a levee maintenance crew.

Differs from Levee Foreman B by the absence of supervisory responsibility over heavy mobile equipment operators.

EXAMPLES OF WORK:

Supervises subordinate personnel and activities in maintaining, repairing, and modifying levees.

Assigns work to mobile equipment operators, laborers, and other lower-level personnel.

Inspects subordinates' work while in progress and upon completion.

Performs limited administrative functions (approves leave, time and attendance, etc.)

Evaluates work performance of subordinates.

Supervises preparation of equipment reports and records.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of experience as a mechanic, or in the alteration, construction, maintenance or repair of bridges, buildings, drainage facilities, grounds, levees, roads, or wharfs.
