FUNCTION OF WORK:To manage compliance activities applicable to administrative rules, regulations, policies, licensure, statutes, and/or ethical standards.
LEVEL OF WORK:SUPERVISION RECEIVED:Broad from a Compliance Investigations Administrator or an unclassified Executive Director. Other reporting relationships may be approved by SCS.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:Direct over Compliance Investigator Supervisors and/or Compliance Investigators 4. Other reporting relationships may be approved by SCS.
JOB DISTINCTIONS:Differs from law enforcement investigators by emphasis on administrative rather than criminal investigations.
Differs from Compliance Investigator Supervisor by the presence of managerial responsibility.
Differs from Compliance Investigator Administrator by the absence of administering all activities of an agency's Investigation Division.

Manage the work activities of an Investigation Division by establishing long-range goals and objectives.
Serves as the Investigation Division spokesperson in the absence of agency Administrators.
May track and manage the budget of an Investigation Division.
Manages the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines to be followed in all case investigations, audits, etc.
Oversees and approves findings from investigations that are complex, high profile, or sensitive in nature.
Analyzes and interprets rules, regulations, and laws for applicability to investigative procedures.
Prepares recommendations to the governing bodies on updating laws and requirements for the law(s) administered by the agency.
Provides assessment of proposed rules and legislation pertaining to investigative practices.
Testifies on proposed legislation at legislative committee meetings and answers questions regarding functions of the agency.
May testify in various types of hearings concerning investigation findings.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Seven years of experience in accounting, auditing, administrative services, building inspection, real estate appraisal, law enforcement, investigations, or in the issuance or recommendation of medical licenses; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus four years of experience in accounting, auditing, administrative services, building inspection, real estate appraisal, law enforcement, investigations, or in the issuance or recommendation of medical licenses; OR
A bachelor's degree plus four years of experience in accounting, auditing, administrative services, building inspection, real estate appraisal, law enforcement, investigations, or in the issuance or recommendation of medical licenses; OR
An advanced degree plus three years of experience in accounting, auditing, administrative services, building inspection, real estate appraisal, law enforcement, investigations, or in the issuance or recommendation of medical licenses.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
