FUNCTION OF WORK:To supervise compliance activities applicable to administrative rules, regulations, policies, licensure, statutes, and/or ethical standards.
LEVEL OF WORK:SUPERVISION RECEIVED:General from a Compliance Investigator Manager. Other reporting relationships may be approved by SCS.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:Direct over lower-level Compliance Investigators. Other reporting relationships may be approved by SCS.
JOB DISTINCTIONS:Differs from law enforcement investigators by emphasis on administrative rather than criminal investigations.
Differs from Compliance Investigator 4 by the presence of direct supervisory responsibility.
Differs from Compliance Investigator Manager by the absence of managerial responsibility.

Supervises personnel performing investigative work applicable to administrative rules, regulations, policies, licensure, statutes, and/or ethical standards for a work unit.
Organizes, evaluates, and approves the work activities of subordinate personnel.
Trains subordinates in standard investigative techniques, common practices, and compliance standards.
Ensures subordinates follow procedures when gathering evidence, taking witness statements, conducting surveillance, etc.
Reviews reported violations and assigns cases to subordinates for investigation.
Reviews and approves detailed confidential reports, investigation summaries, and corrective action recommendations.
Oversees the maintenance of investigation records to facilitate research and efficient reference by subordinates.
Refers personnel to give presentations on compliance standards.
Makes recommendations to management for changes to administrative rules, regulations, policies, licensure, statutes, and/or ethical standards to improve compliance.
Ensures subordinates have proper security clearance to conduct background checks as needed to ensure compliance with applicable administrative rules, regulations, policies, licensure, statutes, and/or ethical standards.
Participates in various hearings to provide testimony for assigned cases as needed.
Conducts investigations as needed.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Six years of experience in accounting, auditing, administrative services, building inspection, real estate appraisal, law enforcement, investigations, or in the issuance or recommendation of medical licenses; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of experience in accounting, auditing, administrative services, building inspection, real estate appraisal, law enforcement, investigations, or in the issuance or recommendation of medical licenses; OR
A bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in accounting, auditing, administrative services, building inspection, real estate appraisal, law enforcement, investigations, or in the issuance or recommendation of medical licenses; OR
An advanced degree plus two years of experience in accounting, auditing, administrative services, building inspection, real estate appraisal, law enforcement, investigations, or in the issuance or recommendation of medical licenses.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
