FUNCTION OF WORK:To direct investigations into alleged violations of state criminal or election law.
LEVEL OF WORK:SUPERVISION RECEIVED:Broad review from an Elections Compliance Officer 4 or higher-level administrative official.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:Direct line over Elections Compliance Officer 1's and Elections Compliance Officer 2's.
JOB DISTINCTIONS:Differs from Elections Compliance Officer 1 and Elections Compliance Officer 2 by the presence of supervisory duties.
Differs from Elections Compliance Officer 4 by the absence of being responsible for the overall objectives of the Compliance Unit.

Directs investigations into election related violations of Louisiana Criminal Law and/or violations of the Louisiana Election Code.
Reviews the work of subordinate investigators for quality and accuracy.
Assists the Election Compliance Unit Director with the overall management of the Compliance Unit.
Gathers physical and circumstantial evidence, prepares warrants, and effects arrests.
Locates and interviews witnesses and testifies in court.
Conducts physical surveillance.
Prepares necessary reports on investigations.
Receives sworn statements.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Six years of experience in investigations as a commissioned law enforcement officer; OR
A bachelor's degree in criminal justice or law enforcement plus three years of experience in investigations as a commissioned law enforcement officer.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
An applicant will be disqualified if he or she has been convicted of a felony or if there are any indictments or bills of information pending against him or her in which felony charges are included; or if he or she has been convicted within the past three years of hit and run or driving while intoxicated.
Possession of a current Louisiana driver's license.
Possession of an active Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification.
