FUNCTION OF WORK:To supervise personnel engaged in clerical activities in support of an organizational unit or program.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:Direct supervision over 3 or more Administrative Coordinators, Administrative Assistants, or equivalent.
JOB DISTINCTIONS:Differs from the Administrative Coordinator and Administrative Assistant job series by the presence of direct-line supervision over 3 or more subordinates.
Differs from Administrative Supervisor 1 by agency impact, hierarchy, and reporting relationship patterns.
Differs from Administrative Manager 1 by the absence of professional-level administrative duties.

Plans, assigns, and reviews the work of employees engaged in processing fiscal, personnel, educational, medical, or other departmental work.
Supervises the training, orientation, and continuing development of subordinate employees.
Evaluates the work of subordinates; ensures work product quality and quantity control by reviewing documents, reports, or records for completeness and accuracy.
Counsels employees on work-related problems or questions.
Determines and assembles data, and composes special reports, periodic correspondence, or production reports.
Gives routine interpretation of laws, rules, and regulations.
Performs related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Three years of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for six months of the required experience.
