FUNCTION OF WORK:To administer the statewide community services program for forensic patients.
LEVEL OF WORK:SUPERVISION RECEIVED:Administrative direction from a Human Services Executive Director or a Hospital Administrator 3.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:Direct over Forensic Community Services Supervisors and/or Forensic District Coordinators.
JOB DISTINCTIONS:Differs from other administrative jobs by the presence of responsibility for administering outpatient services to forensic patients outside of hospital settings.

Designs, implements and coordinates an array of outreach services to forensic patients outside of hospital settings.
Establishes a Court Clinic system for those pre-trial incompetent defendants on bond or in the custody of the Criminal Justice System.
Establishes a Forensic Aftercare and Monitoring system for individuals with mental illness who are under the supervision of the Criminal Justice and Mental Health systems.
Supervises subordinate professional staff who are responsible for the provision of forensic services in a designated area of the state.
Prepares and monitors the budget for forensic services; identifies and develops grant applications or requests to expand services.
Provides technical assistance to professional staff, state and federal judges, sheriffs, coroners, sanity commission members (physicians) and other personnel of the criminal justice system.
Develops statewide policies and procedures to meet goals and objectives of the program and to comply with judicial decrees, court orders and injunctions.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been in forensic behavioral health services:
1. A master’s degree in a social science field, social work, behavioral health field, public health, education, or health administration plus six years of experience providing behavioral health treatment; OR
2. A Juris Doctorate plus five years of experience providing behavioral health treatment; OR
3. Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Certified Social Worker (CSW) plus five years of experience providing behavioral health treatment.
OR
Possession of a license to practice law in Louisiana plus three years of criminal law experience as a practicing attorney.
