JOB DISTINCTIONS:Differs from Prison Enterprises Assistant Supervisor by the presence of responsibility for supervising all aspects of a complex industrial or administrative operation within a correctional institution.
Differs from Prison Enterprises Farm Supervisor by the absence of responsibility for supervising a farming operation at a correctional facility.
Differs from Prison Enterprises Regional Manager by the absence of responsibility for management of two or more industrial or administrative operations within a designated region.

Supervises all activities of a complex industrial or administrative operation in a correctional facility by establishing work priorities and procedures.
Instructs and supervises Prison Enterprises Assistant Supervisor and inmates in techniques and operations of a production line in a manufacturing plant.
Supervises and transports inmates to deliver and assemble large items and distribute supplies. Reports complaint findings and recommendations to managers.
Evaluates incoming job orders to determine production schedules. Calculates and orders raw materials used for sales to institutions, state agencies, and other customers.
Determines amount of goods to be produced and prepares and submits production reports to a Prison Enterprises Quality Assurance Manager for review.
Oversees a large perpetual inventory by checking records inventory, ordering materials used in the production of goods, receiving raw materials, and storing raw materials and finished goods.
Receives requisitions, supervises subordinates that coordinate packing and shipping functions, and dispatches trucks for delivery. Confirms specifications of products ordered, investigates, and resolves customer complaints on products made.
Oversees proper storage of hazardous raw chemicals to meet federal and state guidelines and maintains proper and current Material Safety Data Sheets.
Supervises the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and automatic controls used in production and assembly lines. Supervises maintenance of all trucks and maintains accurate logs on all work performed on vehicles.
Performs frequent and/or daily inspections to ensure all facilities and products are in compliance with federal and state laws and the regulations set by the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Health, and ACA/ACI Standards.
Conducts monthly safety meetings/inspections and submits safety reports to appropriate staff at Prison Enterprises Headquarters and maintains records of the same.
Remains familiar with the industry standards for any changes or substitutes and quality control to improve products.
Communicates with Wardens, Assistant Wardens, and Security Personnel on a daily basis to ensure all security measures are being met.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Four years of work experience in any field.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience for a maximum of four years.
