FUNCTION OF WORK:
To manage, develop, and coordinate the operations of the Records Management Section for the Office of Workers' Compensation.

LEVEL OF WORK:
Manager

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Administrative from the Assistant Secretary, Office of Workers' Compensation Administration.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
Direct over Workers' Compensation Compliance Supervisors, Workers' Compensation Compliance Analysts, Statisticians, and lower level staff.

JOB DISTINCTIONS:
Differs from the Workers' Compensation Compliance Supervisor by the presence of managerial duties.

Directs and maintains custody of all records of the Hearing Division of the Office of Worker's Compensation Administration.

Directs the Workers' Compensation research program in compiling, interpreting, and releasing information;
identifies emerging trends and issues at the state and national level that are related to workers' compensation.

Manages the collection, compilation, tabulation, and analysis of workers' compensation claim forms for integration into the system.

Conduct logic checks to maintain data quality.

Reviews and analyzes data relating to the records and research sections' operations and procedures, delineating scope and goals, recommending
policies, practices, procedures, and methods.

Conducts the business of the Hearings section, including case management, records maintenance, statistical reporting, and special studies.

Consults with and makes recommendations to the Hearing Officers regarding judicial hearings policies and procedures.

Manages the supervision of the research personnel and prepares complex and comprehensive reports and narratives.

Directs the evaluation of activities within the records management section to ensure compliance with existing rules, regulations, and policies.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Seven years of experience in worker's compensation claims or dispute resolution, injury investigation, insurance claims examining, or statistical analysis; OR

Six years of full-time experience in any field plus four years of experience in worker's compensation claims or dispute resolution, injury investigation, insurance claims examining, or statistical analysis; OR

A bachelor's degree plus four years of experience in worker's compensation claims or dispute resolution, injury investigation, insurance claims examining, or statistical analysis.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
