FUNCTION OF WORK:To supervise a team of Compliance Specialists who examine, research, and verify commercial documents ensuring compliance with various statutes, and process/review the lawsuits served on the Secretary of State regarding commercial issues and functions.
LEVEL OF WORK:SUPERVISION RECEIVED:Direct from a Commercial Manager 1.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:Typically direct from a Commercial Manager. May receive supervision from higher level personnel.
JOB DISTINCTIONS:Differs from Commercial Specialist C by the prsence of supervisory resonsibilities.
Differs from Commercial Manager by the absence of managerial duties.

NOTE: Incumbents occupying these positions will be cross trained to perform any of the listed examples of work and may be assigned to work within any section of the Commercial Division.
Assigns and reviews the work of employees engaged in the examination and approval/rejection of business entity organization documents ensuring compliance with appropriate statutes.
Trains employees, including the cross training of employees in all sections within the Division.
Supervises the receipt, assessment, calculation, and processing of required fees.
Maintains records and statistics of filings received and approved or rejected for inclusion in the quarterly and yearly budget reports.
Conducts special research projects for the administrator.
Confers with attorneys, accountants, parish filing officers, financial institutions, individuals, and other state agencies in order to resolve non-compliance problems and to furnish agency interpretation of laws and administrative policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Six years of experience in the examination, research, processing, verification, legal formation, or maintenance of records of corporations, partnerships, trademarks, or limited liability companies; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of experience in the examination, research, processing, verification, legal formation, or maintenance of records of corporations, partnerships, trademarks, or limited liability companies; OR
A bachelor's degree plus three years of in the examination, research, processing, verification, legal formation, or maintenance of records of corporations, partnerships, trademarks, or limited liability companies; OR
An advanced degree plus two years of experience in the examination, research, processing, verification, legal formation, or maintenance of records of corporations, partnerships, trademarks, or limited liability companies.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
