Acquires practical experience for licensure under the direct supervision of a licensed architect by applying architectural principles, theories, concepts, methods, and techniques in the planning, design, construction, and/or inspection of buildings.
Learns procedures and standards to ensure compliance with required building safety, ADA accessibility, and energy codes as established by regulatory authorities.
Monitors and initiates general correspondence and coordinates the implementation of required changes for basic projects.
Consults with design professionals as necessary to modify plans for basic projects.
Contacts clients and makes on-site visits relating to the assigned project.
Under close supervision from a licensed architect, designs and produces construction documents for basic projects.
Periodically reviews codes, regulations, and standards to keep abreast of changes.
Reviews and analyzes basic construction plans to determine compliance with applicable fire safety, ADA accessibility, and energy codes.
Under close supervision, conducts inspections of general occupancy types.
Attends formal training seminars and receives on-the-job training from licensed architects.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor's degree in architecture.
