FUNCTION OF WORK:To oversee the installation and maintenance of electrical systems.
LEVEL OF WORK:SUPERVISION RECEIVED:Broad review from a Facility Maintenance Director or other higher level supervisor, manager, or administrative official.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:Line over a staff of journeyman and advanced journeyman electricians.
LOCATION OF WORK:May be used by all state agencies.
JOB DISTINCTIONS:Differs from Electrician and Electrician Master by the performance of full supervisory duties.
Differs from Electrician Foreman--High Voltage by emphasis on maintenance, installation and repair of systems primarily 480 volts and under.

Assigns and inspects the work of journeyman Electricians and Electrician Masters.
Oversees the installation, alteration, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment and wiring systems.
Makes inspections to determine the need for repair and to estimate repair costs.
Requisitions materials.
Updates and files cost and time records for all projects.
Reads and interprets electrical blueprints.
Approves leave.
Evaluates subordinates' work performance.
Initiates and implements training program for subordinates. Conducts in-service training for subordinates.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Four years of experience in the electrical trade.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
Training in the electrical trade will substitute for a maximum of two years of the required experience on a month for month basis.
