Differs from Occupational Therapy Technician by lack of responsibility for formulating treatment plans, reporting patient progress, and operating an Occupational Therapy Clinic independently without immediate supervision of an Occupational Therapist.

Differs from the Occupational Therapist 1 by the absence of independent responsibility to interpret test results and formulate treatment plans.

Constructs adaptive equipment and orthotic devices required in carrying out treatment or rehabilitation care.

Conducts occupational therapy sessions with individual patients or groups of patients, instructing in activities leading to maximum rehabilitative potential.

Participates in planning and evaluation of treatment.

Observes and assesses patients' reaction to treatment.

Documents patient status and progress in rehabilitation.

Assists in maintaining department records, inventory, and supplies.

May oversee treatment delivered by lower level staff.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a current Louisiana Occupational Therapy Assistant license.
