Responsible for advanced directing techniques involved in programs for state, national or international distribution and broadcast.
Applies and ensures completed local and national programs directed follow, federal mandates as well as following established techniques and guidelines for general television production.
Functions as primary or secondary editor in the editing of video and audio images, determining the correct cuts, pacing and information statements.
Functionally supervises editing of programs by Television Multimedia Specialists by indicating techniques desired in the edited segment.
Serves as technical advisor to the Television Producer as to which format would effectively present subject matter.
Provides creative control over the design of the content presentation of the television program.
Translates visual design of a program into the budget requirements of time, personnel and equipment.
Applies a working knowledge of Federal Communications Commission Rules, Regulations and Technical Guidelines regarding videotape technical standards.
Writes scripts for certain assigned programs.
Edits programs using accepted forms and techniques, while adding creative elements.
Recommends equipment purchases and placement to managers. Assists with research (and installation) of technical television equipment.
Makes recommendations on production techniques, timelines and budgets to other agencies and corporate entities.
Ensure that all federal, state and local rules, regulations and guidelines are also adhered to.
Maintains records, prepares reports and conducts correspondence relative to the assigned productions.
Coordinates with Television Producers of all aspects of the television productions and post production activities in progress.
Field produces assigned remote single camera electronic field productions by functionally supervising single camera remote crew.
Recommends to Television Producer content visual image, production ideas, concepts and changes.
Serves as troubleshooter to ensure television techniques are properly applied to content material.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Six years of production experience in television, radio, or multimedia; OR
A bachelor's degree in film studies, broadcasting, digital media, cinematography, or communications plus three years of production experience in television, radio, or multimedia.
