FUNCTION OF WORK:
To supervise and direct the statewide drug inspection programs of the Louisiana State Board of Pharmacy.

Direct line over Pharmacist-Compliance Officers.

Supervises and directs inspections or investigations of permitted facilities and regulated individuals for compliance with state facilities and regulated individuals for compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

Participate in the coordination and presentation of educational programs to professional and non-professional individuals, pharmacy intern orientation and education; and orientation, training and education of Board of Pharmacy staff. Provide information to healthcare professionals, agencies and the public.

Reviews and evaluates inspection and investigation reports and follows up on reported violations from Pharmacists-Compliance Officers or other enforcement agents.

Gathers and compiles information to aid in the prosecution of violators of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.

Assist the Board of Pharmacy's General Counsel in coordinating and presenting cases of alleged violations for Board action.

Perform emergency enforcement tasks such as seizing licenses or permits, collecting evidence, salvaging and securing drug permits, collecting evidence, salvaging and securing drug inventories, and assisting other enforcement agencies in apprehending drug law violators.

Prepares reports on inspections and investigations for the Board of Pharmacy.

Supervises, directs, and assists with drug accountability audits and investigations.

Provide expert testimony for adjudication of cases at hearings of the Board of Pharmacy.

Assists in ensuring collections of all Board of Pharmacy ordered assessments and court costs.

Assist the Executive Director of the Board of Pharmacy in interviewing prospective permit applicants.

Prepares and presents case reports for candidates requesting reinstatement or reciprocity.

Assist the Executive Director in monitoring activities of impaired pharmacists, students, or technicians for compliance with Board of Pharmacy orders, drug screening programs, aftercare contracts, and conditions of probation.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice pharmacy plus four years of experience as a licensed pharmacist, which must include one year in the inspection of pharmacies for compliance with a regulatory authority's laws, rules, and regulations.
