FUNCTION OF WORK:To oversee and coordinate grounds maintenance activities.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:Direct line over Horticultural Attendant Foreman, Horticultural Attendants, Laborers, equipment operators, etc.
JOB DISTINCTIONS:Differs from Horticultural Attendant Foreman by the presence of managerial responsibility and coordinative functions.
Differs from other superintendent classes responsibility limited to grounds maintenance activities.

Supervises large groups of workers involved in all aspects of grounds maintenance in an agency having vast acreage, usually through subordinate supervisors.
Provides supervision, instruction and training to subordinate grounds supervisors.
Researches and prepares special management reports regarding equipment usage, cost control and other related matters.
Has ultimate responsibility for the maintenance of records and reports relating to grounds upkeep.
Performs any related duties necessary for the proper maintenance of the grounds.
Responsible for road construction and maintenance.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Four years of experience or training in farming, the care and maintenance of trees and shrubs, or groundskeeping; OR
Twenty-four semester hours in a plant science or landscape field of study.
